Gary Collins

Gary started his journey into healing and wholeness over 30 years ago. Initially exploring the martial arts, oriental healing and meditation he qualified as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine in 1989. Since then he has certified in the related disciplines of Chinese Herbal therapy, Tuina, and Qi Gong. He has practiced and taught Tai Chi Chuan for twenty years. Other therapies he has studied and  certified in include Pranic Healing, Phytobiophysics, Shamanic Healing, Bu Qi Healing and Heart and Soul Healing. He also trained with the Four Winds Society.

His practice has evolved over the years, as a result his main focus is to empower the client to become aware of themselves as an energetic being with the power to greatly influence their own healing. He is the founder of both the Jade Sun School which offers courses in spiritual development and healing, and the Solar Sound Healing™ system.

Neal Traynor

Neal Traynor obtained a degree in Psychology from U.C.D. in 1991 and later went on to study Counselling with the ICCP (2007/2008).

Neal has studied Tai Chi & Qi Gong with Gary Collins since 1999 and also completed the Jade Sun School Syllabus in 2012. In 2013 Gary & Neal founded the Jade Sun School of Tai Chi & Qi Gong and in 2014 they established Elysium Sanctuary Sandycove. In 2018 Neal co-founded The Centre of Us with his wife, Alison Traynor.

Neal offers private Tai Chi & Qi Gong classes as well as Phytobiophysics, Podo-Racidian Mobilisation Therapy, Solar Sound Healing and Meditation sessions and courses from Elysium Sanctuary Sandycove.

Alison Traynor

Solar Sound Healing | ‘Care for the Self’ Meditation

Alison started to attend Solar Sound Healing sessions in 2003. Her experience of Solar Sound Healing opened up an interest in self-healing and personal development and she later began to study ‘Spiritual Heart Science’ at the Jade Sun School.

It is within the healing arts that Alison found her path. She qualified through the Jade Sun School as a Solar Sound Healer in May 2016 and as a facilitator of the Jade Sun School’s ‘Care for the Self’ Healing-Meditation program in November 2016.

“All of the tools I have learned at the Jade Sun School have brought so much clarity into my life. I feel more centred, more grounded, more present, more alive and more open-hearted. This has encouraged me greatly to offer something back into the community through this system of transformational healing that I have gained so much from.”

Judy Brennan

Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist

B.A. HDE; M.Sc. Psychology; PG Dip psychotherapy and Counselling.

I invite people who come to me for help with difficulties that have become overwhelming, to develop their awareness as to what prevents them from unfolding their own true nature in the inner and outer expressions of their life. My approach involves an understanding of the universal range of human experiences and behaviour, and it favours an optimistic outlook, and which acknowledges the capacity for “choice, values, love, creativity, self-awareness and human potential”.  I provide a safe non-judgemental space for the client to express him or herself and be heard. I listen. From here we build trust and a therapeutic alliance in order to provide a supportive context for person-centred psychodynamic intervention. I ensure the client’s feelings are noticed and respected as we collaborate towards resolving his/her concerns with acceptance and warmth. The client is thus able to gain insight through dialogue which promotes self-awareness and healing.

Lucy Champion

Alexander technique Teacher

Lucy Champion was born in England and graduated from the London College of Music in 1987 with a graduate honours degree in singing and piano.

She worked initially as a freelance singer and teacher before being lured into the exciting world of orchestral and concerts management – working for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Wren Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast.

Lucy then moved to Dublin in 1998 to take up the post of Education & Outreach Manager for the National Concert Hall, which she held for 10 years.  She is a member of and Education Co-ordinator of the vocal ensemble ANÚNA, with whom she has toured and recorded internationally. She is a featured soloist on Anúna’s albums.

Her journey with the Alexander Technique began when she was at music college, however, as she discovered her previous dancing training and the way in which she was using her body was extremely incompatible with singing.

The difference it made to the singing and her general physical use was incredible– to be aware of tension and to release it was life-changing.

After many subsequent years of “life” (jobs, marriage, parenthood) Lucy took the plunge to train as an Alexander Technique teacher and completed her training with Richard Brennan at the training centre in Galway in March 2021.

Carolyn Reddin

Ayurveda Nutrition Consultations | Ayurvedic Massage | Tai Chi | Qi Gong

Carolyn has trained as an Ayurvedic and Lifestyle Therapist with the European Institute of Vedic Studies.  She then advanced her training at the specialist Vinayak Ayurveda and Panchakarma Research Foundation in Nagpur, India where she attained a certificate of Advanced Clinical Study in Ayurveda.  She offers the following Ayurvedic therapies: Therapeutic Massage, Nutrition consultations, Cooking Classes, and Produces Hand Made Herbal Massage Oils.

Furthermore, Carolyn has completed advanced trainings in the Spiritual Scientific Development of what it means to be Human at the Jade Sun School, including certifying in the profound Spiritual Healing System of Solar Sound Healing. She synthesizes the spiritual power of these teachings with the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.

Carolyn has worked in the food industry for over 15 years, predominantly for 2 major Irish retailers.  This experience allowed her to see in detail how food is produced and sold. Her eyes were opened to many things, most importantly the essentialness of improving our health through the food choices we make. She was led also to understand the importance of Ayurvedic Nutrition in modern society.

She was motivated by these experiences to complete a degree in Food Science and a diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition, further deepening her understanding of the relationship between food and health.

Another aspect of her training was studying the White Crane Daoist Healing Art System, (Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Daoist Yoga, and Fundamental Meditation), at the Jade Sun School of Tai Chi & Qi Gong. She achieved Instructor Level 1 certification in Tai Chi & Qi Gong and is currently completing Level 2 in Qi Gong.

These profound disciplines opened her Heart to see the necessity of feeling in the physical healing process and furthermore the intimate relationship between Feeling and Food, i.e. that our relationship with food dictates our relationship with our Bodies & Health, and vice versa. This is the cornerstone of Carolyn’s unique nutritional approach.

It is her intention to offer in service the above wisdom traditions to empower people to take charge of their health and wellbeing.

Colin Starrett

Acupuncture | Chinese Herbal Medicine

Following on from his degree from the University of Ulster Colin travelled extensively and lived in China for a number of years, learning Chinese and much about Chinese culture. Life in China, his personal experience of Chinese Medicine in both Ireland and China, and his study at The Jade Sun School led to him experiencing a deep-felt drive to learn and practice Chinese Medicine.

This resulted in him studying acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Beijing, Dublin and Nanjing. He also carried out clinical internships following doctors in very well regarded Chinese Medicine hospitals for a number of months in China.

After graduating he set up Morning Star Acupuncture Sandycove with the intent of providing heartful healing to all that wish to receive it.

He has, over a number of years, completed the syllabus of The Jade Sun School, which seeks to help students connect with and understand the essence of their humanity and express this into all aspects of their life.
