About Us

Gary and Rachel Collins moved to Wexford in 2003 with the intent of opening Elysium Sanctuary healing centre. The centre offers a multitude of healing disciplines that help and empower the person to recover, maintain and enhance their wellbeing. The Sanctuary’s ethos is that human life is precious and every human deserves to be as happy and healthy as possible.

As a couple we are committed to serving this purpose in our private and public lives. Gary brings his extensive knowledge of Acupuncture, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Tuina and other healing modalities to Elysium. Rachel brings her extensive knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga, Healing and Chakra work to Elysium. As individuals we have joined together to bring the Tao and Dharma under one rooftop to be of service in as many ways as possible.

Gary Collins

about_us_22Gary Collins started his journey into healing and wholeness over 26 years ago. Initially exploring the martial arts, oriental healing and meditation he qualified as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine in 1989. Since then he has certified in the related disciplines of Chinese Herbal therapy, Tuina, and Qi Gong. He has practiced and taught Tai Chi Chuan for twenty years. Other therapies he has studied and and certified in include Pranic Healing, Phytobiophysics, Shamanic Healing, Bu Qi Healing and Heart and Soul Healing. He also trained with the Four Winds Society. His practice has evolved over the years, as a result his main focus is to empower the client to become aware of themselves as an energetic being with the power to greatly influence their own healing. He is the founder of both the Jade Sun School which offers courses in spiritual development and healing, and the Solar Sound Healing system.

Rachel Collins

Rachel Collins originally trained in Psychology and worked with families and children in both the States and Ireland. It was her work with autistic children that led her to explore the relationship between health and food. After researching several approaches to nutrition, Rachel was drawn to Ayurveda as a complete health system. This along with her interest in Yoga led her to explore both in a more structured way. She trained as an Ayurvedic and Lifestyle Therapist with the European Institute of Vedic Studies under Vaidya Atreya Smith. She also received a certificate of Advanced Clinical Study in Ayurveda from the Vinayak Ayurveda and Panchakarma Research Foundation in Nagpur, India. She is an ashtanga practitioner and completed the Heart of Yoga with the School of Ashtanga Yoga Dublin in 2006. In order to complement her work in both Ayurveda and Yoga, she trained in both Heart and Soul Healing and Solar Sound Healing. Rachel firmly believes that neither life nor health is straight forward and many times our “health” problems begin on a much deeper level. In order to explore these other levels, Rachel brings her own natural healing abilities to all areas of her work in order to be of better service to the client.
